Bell 47 Checkride Turns Fatal

Two pilots, one undertaking a checkride, were killed when their Bell 47 suffered an apparent engine failure. The piston-powered Bell 47, registered to Versatile Aviation, Inc., went down Tuesday night (shortly after 1900) in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified Daniel Lee Ewing Jr., 39, of New Roads, La., as P.I.C, and Norman Marshall Edwards, 49, of Oklahoma City, as the other pilot.
