Aerosim Flight Academy Wins FAA Diamond Award

Seventh Year For The Flight School To Be So Recognized

For the seventh time, Aerosim Flight Academy in central Florida has won the FAA's prestigious Diamond Award, which is presented annually to those organizations recognized  for safer and more proficient mechanics or technicians.

Traditionally, the Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) award is given out to airlines. Aerosim Flight Academy is the only flight school in the nation that holds this prestigious award. “We are truly honored to be recognized by the FAA,” said Tom Bruno, Director of Aircraft Maintenance. “What it’s really about is our relationship with the FAA to promote continuing education. We have always worked hard to build a strong partnership with the FAA and together it’s about striving to be the best technicians, delivering the safest aircraft and putting forth the best work possible.”

Through the AMT Awards Program, the FAA recognizes eligible technicians and employers by issuing awards to those who receive or promote and foster initial and recurrent training. To increase the incentive for management to fund training under the award program, the FAA also recognizes employers who take a proactive role in training their technical workforce. The AMT Awards program encourages AMTs and employers to take advantage of initial and recurrent training by issuing awards based on training received in one calendar year.

The FAA spent a day at Aerosim Flight Academy last week honoring the Orlando-Sanford based operation.
