Free Distribution Begins At AirVenture
As usual, the current edition of the Aircraft Electronic
Association's Pilot's Guide to Avionics debuts at EAA's AirVenture,
and this year also marks the rollout of the AEA's Pilot's Guide to
Avionics website, where pilots and consumers will find an avionics
glossary, repair station directory by state and country, archives
of past Pilot's Guide articles, and much more.
For the past eight years, the AEA has published the annual
Pilot's Guide to Avionics, a consumer's directory containing
buyer's guides, educational articles and timely information about
the avionics industry, its products and its people. The back
portion of the Pilot's Guide is a directory of AEA member certified
repair stations and associate members.
The AEA's aim in publishing this annual guide is to help pilots
make better avionics buying decisions and to assist them in
locating repair stations certified by international regulatory
authorities as capable of installing and maintaining these
sophisticated pieces of equipment.
Nearly 15,000 Pilot's Guides are distributed each year at no
charge.
Following AirVenture, the Pilot's Guide also will be distributed
at:
- AEA's West, Central, East, Canada and South Pacific regional
meetings this fall.
- NBAA Meeting & Convention in October.
- AOPA Aviation Summit in November.
- WAI Conference in February.
- The AEA International Convention & Trade Show from March
22-25, in Reno, NV.
Some of the articles featured in the 2010/2011 Pilot's Guide
include "New Products for 2010," "Dream Panel Installations &
Repair", "Wi-Fi in the Sky", "Hand-Held GPS", "Adapting ADS-B",
"In-Flight Entertainment", "Choosing an FAA-Certified Repair
Station", and more.
