G600, G950 Optional In Single, Upcoming Twin
Garmin and Tecnam Aircraft announced Friday at AERO
Friedrichshafen 2009 the availability of Garmin G950 and G600 as
optional avionics for the twin-engine P2006T, and single-engine
P2002 JF & P2002 JR, respectively.
"Since their founding over 60 years ago, Tecnam Aircraft has
developed a reputation for manufacturing a diverse fleet of
extremely reliable and high quality aircraft," said Gary Kelley,
Garmin’s vice president of marketing. "We're are looking
forward to working with Tecnam and are confident their customers
will appreciate the situational awareness and integration that
comes from the G950 and G600."
Garmin's G600 will be available on the P2002 JF (fixed gear)
& P2002 JR (retractable gear) two-seat aircraft. The G600
incorporates two individual displays -- a PFD and MFD -- combining
primary flight data including attitude and air data with
navigation, weather, terrain and traffic data displayed in an
intuitive pictorial format on dual LCD displays. The G600 is also
designed to integrate with Garmin’s panel mount WAAS GPS
products.
The Tecnam P2006T is a twin-engine, four-seat aircraft with
fully retracting landing gear. It will feature Garmin's G950, an
all-glass avionics suite that is based on the popular G1000, but is
designed for aircraft manufacturers who want a standardized
avionics configuration and will complete certification of their
airframe’s avionics panel on their own. The P2006T's G950
avionics is a two panel display that will integrate all primary
flight, navigation, communication, terrain, traffic, surveillance,
and weather data on the high-definition LCDs.
