Owner Looks Forward To "New Toy"
A milestone for Yakima, WA-based planemaker CubCrafters was
reached this week, as the first Canadian registered CC18-180 Top
Cub was delivered to its owner in Montreal, Quebec.
"I just want to take few minute of your time to tell you how
happy I am to see my new Top Cub sitting in his hangar back home,"
new owner Bernard Brossard told the planemaker. "I can tell you the
wait was worthwhile. The plane is just magnificent. John Alexander
(CubCrafters’ Delivery Pilot) gave me an excellent briefing
of the plane before leaving and surely makes me feel confident with
my new toy."
Introduced at AirVenture 2005, the certified Top Cub sports an
empty weight of 1,200 lbs, a useful load of 1,100 lbs, and 205 lbs
of available cargo capacity behind the rear seat, split between the
extended baggage area and an upper storage compartment. Unique to
the Top Cub are 11 fuselage-welded interior tie-down points for
ultimate cargo carrying flexibility.
The Top Cub also features 26G pilot and 21G co-pilot restraint
systems, adjustable front and rear seats, 54 gallon capacity fuel
system and Vortex Generators as standard equipment.
"What a great day for our customers north of the border, our
employees, and the entire CubCrafters family," said CubCrafters
President Jim Richmond of the delivery. "We say 'Thank you' to all
of those who worked with us and to those who waited so patiently
while we completed the certification process with Transport Canada.
These pictures of C-GBBO and the CubCrafters Team describe how we
all feel today. Congratulations to Bernard, and to everyone that
has played a role in reaching this momentous occasion."
