Prepares to Deliver the First Canadian-Built Symphony 160
Symphony Aircraft Industries tells ANN that Transport Canada has
assumed responsibility as the "State of Design" for the Symphony
160 aircraft, and has issued the required Type and Production
Certificates to Symphony Aircraft Industries.
“All of us at SAI have worked very hard to reach these
major milestones, and are thrilled to receive the type and
production certificates for the Symphony 160,” said SAI
President and CEO Paul Costanzo (below, right). “Now we can
move forward and do what we’re in business to do –
build and deliver aircraft.”
Transport Canada issued
the Type Certificate for the SA 160, known as the Symphony 160, on
Friday, March 18, 2005, followed by the Production Certification
Tuesday, March 22. As holder of the primary Type Certificate, SAI
is now responsible for the continuing airworthiness of the
aircraft, and is accountable to Transport Canada. The production
certificate authorizes SAI to manufacture and certify the Symphony
160.
The first Symphony 160 built at SAI's facility in Three Rivers
will be delivered on March 31, 2005 to Ron Corbi of Corbi Aircraft
Sales in Salem, Ohio. "As a new dealer, Ron really needs a Symphony
160 to use with their customers," said Costanzo.
"Getting demonstrators into the hands of all our dealers is a
high priority for SAI."
Corbi Aircraft Sales is very excited about receiving the first
delivery. “The SA 160 is a great aircraft. We are honored to
be a Symphony dealer, representing such a plane,” said Corbi.
“We have many customers anxiously waiting to fly the new
Symphony 160. I know they’ll love the aircraft as much as I
do.”
