Textron Aviation Introduces the King Air 260

Textron Aviation is launching the Beechcraft King Air 260 turboprop. Featuring advancements to the cockpit and improvements in the cabin, the King Air 260 reflects the company beliefs that it has made substantial investments to its current products. Assembly production for the King Air 260 is already underway, and certification and deliveries are expected in early 2021. The announcement comes on the heels of the recently introduced Beechcraft King Air 360. The King Air 360 achieved FAA type certification in October, and customer deliveries are underway.

Virgin Galactic Will Operate Rocket Powered Flight With Reduced Team Onsite Due to COVID

Virgin Galactic has announced its new flight window since it paused the spaceflight preparations in response to state guidelines from the New Mexico Department of Health to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The new flight window will open on December 11, pending good weather conditions and technical readiness. This flight expects to fulfill a number of objectives, including testing elements of the customer cabin as well as assessing the upgraded horizontal stabilizers and flight controls during boost. The flight will also carry payloads as part of the NASA Flight Opportunities Program.

Tamarack Aerospace Group is adding a Transformation Center at the Aiken Regional Airport (KAIK), South Carolina. This Transformation Center will offer Active Winglet installations to clients in 10 days or less. Certificated: Five-bladed Airbus H145 Blessed By FAA

First Deliveries In North America Expected Shortly

The new five-bladed H145 helicopter has received its certification from the FAA. This type certification covers the full range of capabilities, including single-pilot instrument flight rules (IFR) and single engine operations (Cat.A/VTOL), along with night vision goggle capability. This newest version of the H145 family received EASA certification this past summer and was delivered to launch customer Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation in September. In 2020, Embraer delivered a series of avionics enhancements to the Phenom 100EV. These enhancements include Emergency Descent Mode, Graphical Weight and Balance, ADS-B In, Coupled Go-Around, TOLD, and PERF, among others. NTSB Prelim: Cessna 182Q

Near The Beginning Of Runway 13, The Airplane Was Struck From Behind By The Snowplow

On October 18, 2020, about 1200 mountain daylight time, a Cessna 182Q, NN97875, was involved in an accident near Spearfish, South Dakota. The commercial pilot and a passenger were uninjured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 personal flight. The pilot stated that while preparing to depart The Black Hills Airport-Clyde Ice Field (SPF), Spearfish, South Dakota, he witnessed a snowplow make a couple passes on the runway. My passenger made comment to me about how fast the truck was moving while it was plowing. He said they joked about the truck saying if it had wings that it would probably take off!
