Board Has Asked For All Documents And E-Mails Connected With
Colgan Air Flight 3407 Accident
New York Representatives Kathy Hochul(D), Brian Higgins(D), and
Louise Slaughter(D) (pictured L-R) released the following
statement after news that the NTSB has requested Pinnacle Airlines
to fully disclose all information, including emails, related to the
crash of Colgan Air Flight 3407:
“Following last week’s
meeting with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), we
are glad to hear the NTSB is heeding our call and requesting for
Pinnacle Airlines to release any and all information relevant to
the crash of Colgan Air Flight 3407.
“All of this information should have been released from the
very beginning of this investigation and the Western New York
delegation stands united in their disappointment and outrage at
Pinnacle for choosing to cherry-pick what they submitted to the
investigators. The NTSB is to be commended for having conducted
such a thorough and expeditious investigation, but this information
could have strengthened that effort.
“From the beginning of this tragedy, our combined goal has
been to uncover the truth about what happened on that February
night in 2009. While we’ve been told the information
contained in these emails is consistent with what Pinnacle and
Colgan reported to the NTSB, our hope is that any new information
can help fill in the gaps and ensure such a tragedy never happens
again.”
In her statement, NTSB Chair Deborah Hersman said she did not
expect that the release of additional documents would change the
board's finding of probable cause in the accident.
