Initial Order To Help Launch Indian Investment Venture
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC)
announced an order Monday from UK-based property developer and
investment company ISIS Group for 10 Hawker 400XPs. The total value
of the contract with options is in excess of $70 million.
The official signing took place at the 2008 National Business
Aviation Association (NBAA) Annual Meeting and Convention in
Orlando, FL.
The order marks ISIS Group's initial aircraft purchase for their
new investment in the growing Indian aviation industry -- Aviators
India Pvt Limited, based in Bangalore, India.
Headed by Managing Director Arun Sharma, Aviators India has been
in business for 14 years with wide experience in charter operations
and marketing of aviation products and services. The company is
scheduled to commence charter services for ISIS Group in the second
half of 2009. Delivery dates for five of the Hawker 400XPs are
planned during 2009, with the remaining five aircraft to be
delivered in 2010.
"We're thrilled that ISIS chose the Hawker 400XP as the aircraft
to launch their charter jet service. This order highlights the
growing demand in India for private aircraft and further cements
Hawker Beechcraft as the superior choice for business travel in the
region," said Brad Hatt, president, Commercial Sales at Hawker
Beechcraft. "With strong existing turbine sales and the surge of
orders we've experienced in India this year, we are poised to
continue to grow our aviation leadership position in the
region."
ISIS Group's Hawker aircraft will be operated on lease by
Aviators India. The company's entire operations will be supported
by InterGlobe General Aviation's Hawker Beechcraft Authorized
Service Center in Delhi, which opened earlier this year to provide
superior maintenance and support in the region.
"We chose the Hawker 400XP for our Indian operation for its
capability, performance and reliability," said ISIS Group Managing
Director Sanjay Kantaria. "Aviators' presence in India is well
known and we feel that due to their business philosophy and
capability to operate the charter service, this will be a good
combination. We have received outstanding support from Hawker
Beechcraft and InterGlobe General Aviation and we look forward to
working closely with both companies."
