CAE Awarded Contracts For 7 FFSs And Training Devices

Nearly 40 FFSs Sold So Far In FY2012

CAE said in a news release Monday that it has sold seven full-flight simulators (FFSs), including an ATR72-500 to Air Algérie in Algeria; a Boeing 737NG to Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) in Dubai, UAE; two Airbus A320 FFSs for the new Interglobe-CAE joint venture airline training centre in Delhi, India; an Embraer ERJ-190 to Zhuhai Flight Training Centre (ZFTC) in Zhuhai, China; plus two FFSs to undisclosed customers.

CAE also sold CAE Simfinity Integrated Procedures Trainers (IPTs) to ECFT and ZFTC, an A320 Airbus Procedures Trainer (APT) for the new Delhi training centre, plus a CAE Simfinity Virtual Simulator (VSIM) to ZFTC, as well as simulator updates and spares to various customers.

The contracts are worth a total of more than $90 million (Canadian) at list prices and bring the total number of FFS sales that CAE announced in fiscal year 2012 to 37, nearly a third more than last year.

"Our simulator sales this past year reflect our global reach, in all regions of the world. Approximately 60% of the orders received this fiscal year come from Asia and Australia, 16% from the Middle East and Africa, 16% from the Americas and 8% from Europe," said Jeff Roberts, CAE’s Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. “We are proud to be the trusted partner to the world’s airlines for the past 65 years, in emerging and legacy markets."
