Ohio Man Arrested After Disrupting Continental Flight

Locked Himself Screaming And Kicking Into The Bathroom, Say Investigators

What in the world got into Caleb Parker? Authorities say the 28-year old man from Cuyahoga Falls, OH, freaked out Saturday on a flight from Houston to Salt Lake City -- beating on the cockpit door just before landing and then locking himself in the lavatory.

Now, Parker faces charges of interfering with a flight crew. If convicted, he could spend 20 years in prison and pay a $250,000 fine.

Court documents filed earlier this week indicate Parker was acting a bit oddly on the flight, but didn't appear to be intoxicated.

As the aircraft (type unknown) approached Salt Lake, witnesses said Parker locked himself in the lavatory while screaming incoherently. As soon as the aircraft touched down, authorities say he ran out of the bathroom and attempted to open one of the cabin doors. As the aircraft made its way from the runway to the gate, flight crew members say Parker beat on the reinforced cockpit door, screaming at the pilot and copilot.

He was arrested immediately after the aircraft arrived -- safely -- at the gate.
