Sino Swearingen Receives 2 TIAs... Ahead Of Schedule

FAA Certification Accelerating on Time to Second Half of This Year 2005

Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corp. (SSAC) has told ANN that two major milestones in the form of TIAs (Type Inspection Authorization) were recently received. TIA authorization for the FAA certification process is the approval from the FAA to move to the next phase of testing for the items passed.

These two critical TIA items recently received are for systems and high speed upsets, from the FAA.

During a short gathering of Sino Swearingen Flight Test and FAA employees, Mr. Alfred Baumbusch, Senior Vice President, Operations for Sino Swearingen received one of the FAA TIA Certificates. Receiving the second FAA TIA Certificate was Robert Kromer, SSAC Senior Manager, Flight Test, Flight Operations, and Chief Pilot. Also attending from the FAA were SJ30-2 Program Manager Al Boutin and Chief Test Pilot Rick Simmons.

Dr. Carl Chen CEO and President or SSAC stated that, "Now that all of our critical high speed flight testing is finished such as VD dive testing to Mach .90, stall speeds at 91 kts etc. we are aggressively finishing the additional flight testing required for the FAA certification. This is a significant and major milestone in that process. Over two years ago we projected certification for the second half of this year and we are on time and on schedule to meet that deadline thanks to the hard work and tireless efforts from all of our dedicated employees and the FAA."

Alfred Baumbusch, Senior Vice President of Operation at SSAC stated, "Since we are now flying with the FAA on board, we are making real progress towards our goal of a TC (Type Certificate) for SJ30-2. This flying is being completed in one of our three conforming flight test articles. With these two very important TIA's completed the full flight envelope has been explored and found certifiable by the FAA test pilots."

Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation is certifying the new SJ30-2 in San Antonio TX with 425 employees in four facilities totaling over 220,000 sq ft in the USA Coast to Coast. The Company expects FAA certification finalized before the end of the second half of this year, 2005. The new Sino Swearingen SJ30-2 business jet is a high performance, long range, intercontinental, twinjet aircraft with a 2,875 sm range and a high-end cruise speeds of Mach .83 (560 mph). The SJ30-2 will operate at altitudes to 49,000 feet and maintain a "Sea level cabin" to 41,000 ft, at 12 psi. The new SJ30-2 will also be certified for single pilot ops.
