Lucky Pair in Florida

Power Failure on Takeoff

Like a tornado, the Musketeer touched down near a trailer park. Luckily for the residents, and for the two aboard, nobody was hurt.

There's a couple broken pine trees, and a Musketeer with some damage; but the heads-up handling by pilot John Boldt, 62, was good enough to keep the machine in one piece, something for which his passenger, Jim Casey, 69, is no doubt grateful.

The two didn't even have to walk all the way out of the swampy area where the little Beech finally skidded to a stop, its gear consigned to the sandy mud somewhere nearby: they were picked up by a Sheriff's Department helicopter.
