Avidyne's Envision Approved For Cessna 320, 335 And 340 Piston Twins

Joins 400-Series Twins On AML

Avidyne's Envision Integrated Flight Deck is now available for retrofit on several popular Cessna 300-series piston twin models. Avidyne and Southern Star Avionics, LLC of Mobile, AL have added the Cessna 320, 335 and 340 piston twins to the FAA Approved Model List (AML) of aircraft authorized for retrofit of the Envision System. The Cessna 401, 402, 414 and 421 models were approved in March when the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) was originally granted.

Avidyne and Southern Star have successfully collaborated on a number of STCs for installation of the Envision components on a variety of aircraft including an EXP5000 PFD on the Cirrus SR20 and SR22 and an EXP5000 PFD and single EX5000 MFD Envision retrofit with an STEC 65 autopilot in a King Air E90.

"Adding functionality and glass displays to these Cessna piston-engine twins not only extends their useful lives it means that more than 1,500 additional airplanes can now be equipped to operate in today’s air traffic environment with the industry’s easiest-to-use integrated flight deck," said Rob Higby, Avidyne’s vice president of sales and marketing.

Avidyne has also collaborated with Southern Star and S-TEC on the design of the dual-PFD and single-MFD Envision/Alliant flight deck for the approximately 300 Cessna 441 Conquest II turboprop aircraft currently in service.

"Avidyne’s Envision Integrated Flight Deck adds capability, versatility and safety to a broad range of existing aircraft and we look forward to working with Avidyne to expand the AML for this retrofit to additional models," said Tom Greer, President, Southern Star Aviation. "Avidyne’s products not only enhance the value of the aircraft on which they’re installed, they enhance the safety of the air traffic system in which they operate," he added.

Retail pricing for the Envision integrated flight deck begins at $34,995 for the EXP5000 PFD with STC Kit. Options include Avidyne’s EX5000 or EX500 Multi-Function Display (MFD), the dual-antenna TAS600 traffic advisory system, MLB700 broadcast datalink weather, and TWX670 Tactical Lightning Detection System.
