Air Show Performer Down In Oklahoma

Rodger Modglin Died A Day After Mishap

The pilot of a Romanian-made Yak-52 died Sunday from injuries he sustained when his aircraft went down during a performance at the "Wings Over Oklahoma" Airshow in Claremore on Saturday.

Rodger Modglin, 55, of Owasso, OK, was airlifted from the airport in Claremore to a Tulsa hospital, diagnosed with massive head injuries. This, after his aircraft apparently stalled during an aerobatic maneuver in the third act of the Saturday air show.

Modglin, a popular pilot with an award-winning aircraft, was mourned across the warbird and air show circuit on Sunday.

He was the third air show performer lost this month. As ANN reported July 11th, Bobby Younkin and Jimmy Franklin died when their aircraft collided at an air show in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.
