Textron Reports Fourth Quarter 2022 Earnings

Finishing Strong—for the Most Part

On 25 January 2023, Textron Inc.—the Providence, Rhode Island-based American conglomerate and parent company of Cessna, Beechcraft, Hawker, Bell Helicopter, Lycoming Engines, Pipistrel, Jacobsen, Kautex, E-Z-GO, Arctic Cat snowmobiles, and Textron Systems—reported its fourth quarter 2022 earnings. The report cited increased company income from continuing operations of $1.07 per-share—compared to 2021’s fourth quarter adjusted income from continuing operations of $0.93 or $0.94 per-share. Textron’s full-year 2022 income from continuing operations was $4.01 per share—up from $3.30 in 2021.

Fresh CFI in Hand, Inaugural Class of Aviate Pilots Heads to Instruct

United announced the graduation of its first group of zero-to-hero ab initio pilots from their United Aviate Academy. The class is the first to come from the Goodyear, Arizona location after United took over the luxurious training accommodations that served as Lufthansa's old stomping grounds, including their bespoke, private use ILS in the south practice area. The graduating class of 51 students will be the first bolus towards what United hopes will be an eventual - but optimistic - total of 5,000 by decade's end.

The first new production Block 70 F-16 took flight from Lockheed Martin's Greenville, South Carolina facility. The flight  marks the first completed F-16 made at the facility after moving production to Greenville from the older Fort Worth, Texas location. (Airplane) Appeared To “Pull Up Steep,” Roll To The Left, And The Left Wing Impacted The Ground

On January 2, 2023, about 1135 mountain standard time, an Embraer EMB-505, N555NR, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at the Provo Municipal Airport, Provo, Utah. The pilot sustained fatal injuries, two passengers sustained serious injuries, and one passenger sustained minor injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. A witness who was removing snow from the ramp area reported that the accident airplane was hangared near his location, and that the airplane remained hangared until 1055.
