JetBlue Pilots Keep Eyes on the Ball During Contract Negotiations

Spirit Shareholders may Have Approved a Merger, but That's a Long Way Off, says Pilot Group

JetBlue Airways pilots, and their representatives from ALPA, greeted the October 18th vote by spirit shareholders approving a JetBlue/Spirit merger by reminding their fellows to keep their eye on the ball. They reminded pilots of the importance of retaining a collective bargaining agreement, particularly with a prospective merger on the horizon. They argued that an immediate deal will be vital to bridging the old agreement with a future post-merger oner.

Textron Aviation has been movin' metal at NBAA-BACE, announcing a sale to flyExclusive for up to 14 additional Cessna Citation bizjets. The deal includes 8 Citation XLS Gen2 aircraft for delivery in 2024, and up to half a dozen Citation Longitudes. Those aircraft are expected to begin delivery in 2025. That's not all, as flyExclusive has exercised its option ot buy another 5 Citation CJ3+ aircraft from a previous order that allowed up to 30 of the type earlier this year.

Embraer and NAC Sign Firm Order for Embraer E195 Conversions

Up to 10 E190 Passenger Aircraft Reconfiguration Slots Sold Nordic Aviation Capital

Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), a regional aircraft leasing specialist, have signed a contract for up to 10 conversion slots for the Embraer E190F and E195F, with deliveries expected to start in 2024. Earlier this year, in May, NAC and Embraer reached an agreement to take up to 10 conversions of passenger E190/E195 aircraft to freighter specification planes, with the deal firmed up this month. The aircraft for conversion will come from NAC’s existing E190/E195 fleet.

Honda Aircraft Company unveiled the HondaJet Elite II at this year's NBAA-BACE exhibition, updating the bizjet with extended range, fuel economy, and automation. The HondaJet Elite II has expanded its range over the previous model, bringing it up to a total of 1,547 nm brought about by new increased fuel capacity, in addition to more space for additional cargo. Gross takeoff weight has been brought up to 11,100 lbs, with a new ground spoiler optimizing takeoff and landing performance even at the new weight limit.

NTSB Prelim: Seamax Aircraft M-22

The Entire Right Wing Was Separated From The Main Wreckage And Located In A Tree

On October 6, 2022, at 1229 eastern daylight time, a Seamax Aircraft M-22 airplane, N46PD, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near East Hampton, New York. The private pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to surveillance video, the pilot arrived at the airplane hangar at East Hampton Town Airport (JPX), East Hampton, New York, at 1159. At 1206, he pulled the airplane out of the hangar. Between 1206 and 1208 the pilot performed a preflight inspection, entered the airplane, shut the canopy, and started the engine at 1209.

Light Gun A handheld directional light signaling device which emits a brilliant narrow beam of white, green, or red light as selected by the tower controller. The color and type of light transmitted can be used to approve or disapprove anticipated pilot actions where radio communication is not available. The light gun is used for controlling traffic operating in the vicinity of the airport and on the airport movement area.
