Today FAA Boss Steve Dickson got hit with the big question early on… What is the FAA going to do about recent missteps with the flight training interpretations and the need for L.O.D.A.’s to do what used to be simply allowed as standard procedure. But... Jack Pelton didn’t seem satisfied with Dickson’s answers... and said so. Administrator Dickson also dealt with questions about MOSAIC and the future reimagining of the Light Sport segment... a program that forecast will NOT be complete until the fall of 2023. After a long twelve years, GAMI has achieve something many have tried and all but one have failed to accomplish -- an STC for an unleaded replacement fuel for 100 Low Lead gasoline. The first application for an STC was filed way back in 2009 and the long process finally culminated in the issuance of STC's SE01966WI and SA01967WI signed by Paul Nguyen, manager of the FAA's Wichita ACO branch on July 23 and received by GAMI on July 27. NTSB Prelim: Beech 35-C33

After Takeoff From Runway 29, The Airplane Climb Performance Was Not As Expected

On July 18, 2021, about 0855 mountain daylight time, a Beech 35-C33 airplane, N18AR, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near the Vance Brand Airport (LMO), Longmont, Colorado. The pilot and passenger sustained serious and minor injuries, respectively. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that the preflight inspection and run-up were normal. However, after takeoff from runway 29, the airplane climb performance was not as expected.
