Will Be Installed During Retrofit Of Helicopter Fleet

LA County Fire Department Air Operations selected Becker Avionics’ ADS-B transponder, the BXT6500 series for retrofitting their existing fleet of helicopters. LACOFD operates a fleet of Bell B412 and Sikorsky S-70 helicopters. With the FAA ADS-B mandated deadline of January 1, 2020 quickly approaching, LACOFD selected the mission capable BXT transponder to become ADS-B compliant.
