The NTSB on Thursday held its final on-site media briefing associated with an accident Tuesday in which a Bell 206 went down in the East River in New York City, fatally injuring one passenger. Four others, including the pilot, survived the accident.

Airline Pilot Said She Could "See Heads" In The GA Aircraft

An audio recording of transmissions between a Southwest Airlines pilot and air traffic controllers in Florida on March 27th indicates the Southwest 737 pilot flew her plane within 100 feet vertically and 528 feet laterally of a Cirrus SR-22 which had been NORDO for about 90 minutes. The pilot did so at the request of Orlando air traffic control.

The entrepreneur founded the company which became Miracle-Ear, which he later sold to become a venture capitalist who helped finance other companies. But before his business success, he had been a highly-decorated fighter pilot during WWII.
