Max-Viz EVS Certified for Pilatus PC-12

STC For EVS-1000

Max-Viz says the FAA has awarded a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for installation of the EVS-1000 onboard Pilatus PC-12 single engine turboprop business aircraft. The STC was completed and is owned by Western Aircraft, Inc. in Boise (ID), one of 6 authorized Pilatus sales and service centers in the US. The kit is available to customers through all Authorized Pilatus Service Centers around the world.

The Max-Viz EVS 1000 allows Pilatus PC-12 owners and operators to opt for a single or dual cockpit display, depending on their own specific requirements. EVS uses real-time infrared (IR) sensors, signal processing, and cockpit displays to provide flight crews with improved situational awareness data to enhance safe aircraft operations in marginal visibility conditions such as fog, haze, smoke, precipitation and darkness. In addition, the EVS 1000 system provides flight crews with the actual images of terrain, runways, taxiways, aircraft and other potential obstacles during poor visibility conditions.

"We've already had a number of EVS-1000 orders and installations. Pilatus pilots are already telling us that they can't get along without it," said Brian Rehberg, vice president of Aircraft Services at Western Aircraft. "The real-time images generated by the Max-Viz dramatically improve a pilot's situational awareness and provides more time to react. This increases significantly the level of safety and pilot confidence. We are seeing increasing demand across our customer base for EVS."

The EVS 1000 will be available as an option for aftermarket installation in new Pilatus PC-12 aircraft and as a retrofit avionics upgrade for operators of PC 12's in the current fleet.

"The market advantage for us is that our EVS-1000 system requires no Heads-Up-Guidance (HUD) system thereby differentiating Max-Viz from all our competitors," said Ken Paul, vice president of Sales at Max-Viz, Inc. "We deliver high performance and reliability in a small package at competitive pricing and are delighted that with this STC we can supply our EVS 1000 to the Pilatus PC-12 family of aircraft."

Max-Viz and some of its global network of dealers currently hold US Supplemental Type Certifications (STC) for the Bell 212/412, Challenger-600, 601 and 604, Global Express, Falcon 50/50EX, and the Falcon 900A, B, C and EX. STC's are also currently pending for the Gulfstream-IV/IVSP, the EC-145, Lear 35 and Beech 200/350.

The EVS-2000 Enhanced Vision System, specifically developed for Cessna by Max-Viz, is also a standard factory option on the Citation X, and is anticipated to be offered on the Sovereign following certification in that aircraft in the near future.
