Enstrom to Provide Training Helicopters to Korea

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation, Menominee, MI, received purchase orders for two helicopters, one 480B turbine and one 280FX piston, from Hanseo University in Korea.

This announcement was made at an opening ceremony for the new Taean Airfield. The airfield was built by the University and is a modern airfield that will provide aerospace training for fixed wing and rotary wing pilots, mechanics, and air traffic controllers. The University also purchased 5 Cessna aircraft for fixed wing training.

“This is another important milestone for Enstrom in the Asia market.” said Enstrom President, Jerry Mullins. “Trainees learning to fly in an Enstrom, leads to an Enstrom preference once they obtain their license. This is especially important in Korea as they need to meet the pilot training requirements of the upcoming Korean Helicopter Program (KHP).” Enstrom is further exploring potential co-production of its products in Korea.

Founded in 1959, Enstrom Helicopter Corporation manufactures a complete line of helicopters including the three-place, piston-powered F28F and 280FX, and the turbine-powered 480B. The 480B is available as a three-place advanced trainer or as a three- to five-place VIP aircraft. For law enforcement applications, the 480B is known as the Guardian and the F28F is called the Sentinel.
