Aero-TV: Sennheiser S1 Headset -- Where Comfort Meets Intelligent ANR

Sennheiser, A Company With A STRONG Background In Audio, Intro's a New Aero-Headset

There's a new headset in town and we had a chance to try it out for ourselves. Sennheiser, a company with an extensive background in all things audio is the manufacturer and a primary reason for ANY pilot to pay attention to a new offering from this company.

The new Sennheiser S1 DIGITAL aviation headset is their newest offering, incorporating 'the latest' in digital technology. The unit features 'NoiseGard' digital noise compensation with strong passive noise attenuation, According to Sennheiser, this headset is the only one in the flying game to provide optimum protection against cockpit noise over the entire frequency range.

The S1 DIGITAL has been designed for use in noisy single and twin-engine recip aircraft and helicopters. The unit boasts a Smart Update digital ANR system that customizes noise reduction to the user’s aircraft environment, as well as a headband tension adjustment for customized comfort. Additionally,, the S1 brings Treble boost for customized audio clarity and peak-level protection for hearing safety.
The company notes that the headsets ear-pad comfort zones do not squeeze on a flyer's glasses, while specially designed communication and music filters optimize sound quality. Among the high-tech bag of tricks, Sennheiser has included Bluetooth phone and music connectivity, as well as built-in mic bias voltage for cell-phone use.
