navAero Earns Another STC For Its tBagC2 Class II EFB
Aero-News has learned
the navAero tBag C2 has just been granted Supplemental Type
Certification (STC) as a Class 2 Electronic Flight Bag system on
the MD-10/MD-11 series aircraft. Executed by Avionics Support
Group, this marks yet another STC achieved for the navAero tBag C2
Class 2 EFB hardware.
The STC was issued on October 3. The company tells ANN its
customer is a major international airline planning a fleet-wide
deployment of the navAero EFB hardware on all its MD10/MD11
aircraft (a UPS MD11 is shown below).
As a Class II device, navAero says the tBagC2 system is suitable
for use during all phases of flight.
"This achievement marks yet another validation of our system as
a rugged Class 2 EFB hardware solution that meets the demanding
standards required to achieve an STC," said Ken Crowhurst, navAero
Executive Vice President and Managing Director. "The navAero tBagC2
Class II EFB computer and display technology gives aircraft
operators a high quality, robust and cost effective Class II
hardware solution for charting applications as well as a platform
to host a variety of other aviation software designed to help them
improve their operational efficiency. With the continued success we
are realizing in achieving STCs for our contracted customers, we
are truly becoming the preferred choice of EFB solutions for
commercial aircrafts."
navAero says the EFB's hardware can also be utilized for running
airline-specific applications. Deployments like real-time weather
services can also easily be integrated as well as functions such as
video surveillance, automated security, document libraries, and
wide range of data communications applications.
A world leader in developing and commercializing cost effective
