If You're Gonna Do Something Stupid, Avoid Flights With Rappers
Onboard
Nevermind FAMS. Maybe what airlines really need to insure
safety onboard commercial planes are rappers.
CBS News reports a man who allegedly yelled "I've got a bomb"
onboard a Delta Air Lines flight as the plane was on approach to
land at Los Angeles International Monday was forcibly subdued by a
number of passengers, including members of the band for rap
musician Asher Roth.
The unidentified man reportedly made his threat shortly before
Delta Flight 110 from Atlanta landed at LAX Monday morning. "The
passenger is reported to have made a threat aboard the plane, and
was subdued by passengers," said Los Angeles World Airports
spokesman Albert Rodriguez.
Chris Llewellyn, who plays bass and guitar for the hip hop
artist, recounted the ordeal to the Los Angeles Times.
"We were all sitting in our seats," Llewellyn said. "My boys had
their headphones on. I turned around and got up and ran to the back
of the plane... The suspect was yelling, 'Don't come near me, I
have a bomb, I have a bomb!'"
As the man ran towards a rear emergency exit door, "We all
jumped him," Llewellyn said. "He was struggling hardcore. I was
holding down his arm. Somebody had a foot on his head. Everyone was
holding down a different body part. He was going nuts. I was
telling him to chill because he's not going anyplace."
Six other passengers assisted in subduing the man, Llewellyn
added. They held him down until a flight attendant was able to
locate a restraining kit.
