Rofer McMullin, Entire Airport Staff To Be Feated
The European Business Aviation
Association (EBAA) and the National Business Aviation Association
(NBAA) today announced that business aviation industry leaders from
TAG Aviation and Cannes/Mandelieu Airport will be recognized with
the EBACE European Business Aviation Award for their work on behalf
of business aviation.
TAG Aviation CEO Roger McMullin will receive one of the awards.
McMullin will be recognized for spearheading the company's work to
modernize Farnborough Airport, the UK's only airport dedicated for
use by business aircraft. As part of a multi-year effort, TAG
played a key role in obtaining stringent planning and environmental
approvals from local government authorities, and coordinating major
renovations to runways and operational infrastructure. The airport
now handles more than 20,000 aircraft operations each year, is home
to more than 40 aircraft based at the facility and is capable of
accepting all types of business aircraft.
"TAG's facility at Farnborough is
superb," said EBAA CEO Brian Humphries. "They've taken a huge step
on behalf of business aviation in the U.K. by providing access to
London through the only airport devoted solely to our segment of
the industry. We are delighted to recognize them with the EBACE
European Business Aviation Award."
The entire staff at Cannes/Mandelieu Airport will be recognized
with an award for their groundbreaking work to develop effective
partnerships between airport officials, the business aviation
community and the residents living in the area surrounding the
airport. Their efforts have produced common ground on issues
including noise reduction, environmental protection and
transparency in airport operations. In 2003, the stakeholder group
signed a charter that today serves as a model for airport-community
relationship building.
"The officials from Cannes/Mandelieu Airport have effectively
advocated for business aviation before government representatives,
community leaders and others," said NBAA President and CEO Ed
Bolen. "The business aviation community is indebted to them for
their dedication to serving and strengthening our industry, and we
are pleased to present them with the award."
The award recipients will be honored for their achievements at
this year's European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition
(EBACE), the only major European event focused solely on business
aviation.
