Equips Seminole With The Avidyne Entegra Integrated Flight
Deck
Avidyne Corporation has
confirmed that New Piper Aircraft has selected the Avidyne Entegra
integrated flight deck for its entire fleet of 11 popular aircraft
models by equipping the PA-44 Seminole multi-engine trainer with
the Entegra system.
The selection makes New Piper the first aircraft manufacturer to
standardize on an integrated flight deck system for models ranging
from entry-level piston trainers to top-of-the-line, pressurized,
turbine-powered aircraft. Because the Seminole is the most popular
twin-engine aircraft used for advanced training, it also means that
a new generation of aspiring professional pilots will earn their
aviation credentials flying New Piper aircraft equipped with
Avidyne Entegra.
"With the debut of the
Entegra system in the Piper Seminole, Piper shows its commitment to
providing our customers with the advanced technologies that are
taking aviation to new heights and ever-improving levels of
sophistication and capability," said Piper President and CEO James
K. Bass (pictured below) during a news conference.
"This latest in our series of major product innovations means
that flight academies, aviation colleges and airline training
programs will be well-equipped to provide future pilots with a
safe, reliable and affordable training platform that will prepare
their students for the flight decks of business and commercial
aircraft."
Avidyne Entegra for the Seminole consists of two 10.4-inch
diagonal, high-resolution, sunlight-readable displays, including an
EXP5000 primary flight display (PFD) with integrated solid-state
air data and attitude/heading reference system (ADAHRS) and primary
engine instruments. The EX5000 multi-function display (MFD) in the
Seminole provides a full-featured moving map and comes standard
with the multi-engine implementation of EMax™ electronic
engine instrumentation. Options include XM WX, Avidyne's exclusive
MultiLink™ two-way datalink weather, Avidyne's FlightCenter
services for flight tracking and two-way text messaging
capabilities, an autopilot with integrated flight director,
autopilot mode annunciations and integrated altitude pre-selector
on the EXP5000, and CMax™ Jeppesen JeppView® electronic
chart display.
"Our close and long-standing working relationship with New Piper
is continuing to make a lasting and positive impact on the growth
and long-term success of general aviation," said Mark Sandeen,
Avidyne vice president of sales and marketing. "With the Seminole
we are completing the Entegra sweep of the fleet and delivering a
customizable integrated flight deck across an aircraft line that
serves the widest range of missions and customers in GA."
"We commend New Piper for its vision and for its commitment to
innovation, safety and value," said Avidyne President Dan Schwinn
(pictured below).
"We look forward to continued collaboration in advancing the
capabilities of the New Piper line and in helping to make its
aircraft among the most popular in all of GA."
