Raytheon Delivers Specially Modified Beechcraft 1900D

For Use As Executive Shuttle

Raytheon Airline Aviation Services (RAAS) has delivered the latest in a steadily growing fleet of executive and corporate shuttle Beechcraft 1900D aircraft.

The aircraft, UE-290, was delivered to The Williams Group International, a diversified Atlanta, GA, company engaged in construction and engineering services, primarily in the energy-related field. CEO Virgil Williams, accompanied by his wife Sara, took delivery of the aircraft in August 2005 at a ceremony attended by RAAS employees.

"We were delighted to be able to work with Williams in crafting UE-290 to meet his demanding specifications," said Skip Gallagher, RAAS vice president of sales. "We have delivered five refurbished Beechcraft 1900D aircraft as executive or corporate aircraft in the first three quarters of 2005; and it represents our fastest-growing market segment, as more and more companies seek airlift for functional work groups and as shuttles. The stand-up cabin of the Beechcraft 1900 is particularly attractive to Williams and others in this market segment."

Working closely with Williams and his flight department, the aircraft was converted from an airliner configuration into 11-passenger executive seating consisting of two club groupings plus two individual seats in the rear of the passenger cabin, separated from a forward galley area and side-facing flight attendant seat.

Other features of the aircraft cabin include supplemental soundproofing, LED-style upwash and downwash lighting, pleated window shades and a 52-inch (132 cm) wide galley with hot food capability, china and glass storage. A special aft lavatory includes forward and aft hard partitions, vanity and sink with heated water system and in-flight access to the specially configured aft baggage compartment. Electronics include a full entertainment system with drop-down ceiling monitors as well as individual plug-in monitors, moving map display with street map software, and a satellite communications suite including radio, weather and phone service.

In addition to the standard Beechcraft 1900D avionics, the flight deck includes a Collins autopilot and Garmin GNS 530 with moving map display and a dedicated multifunction display.
