CAN Arranges Free Flights On Business Jets
Chevron
Global Aviation has donated $25,000 to Corporate Angel Network in
support of the charity's efforts on behalf of cancer patients. CAN
arranges free flights to treatment for these patients using the
empty seats on business aircraft.
"Sometimes there is little good news in the life of a person who
suffers from cancer," said Keith Sawyer, General Manager, General
Aviation, Chevron Global Aviation. "The organization we are
honoring with this donation is often the bearer of this good news.
Corporate Angel Network clears away some of the worry, discomfort
and extra cost of distant travel for treatment that so many cancer
patients must endure."
Chevron has been supporting CAN through its co-sponsorship of
the Corporate Angel Award, a Chevron initiative, since 2001. This
has resulted in donations totaling more than $200,000.
"The business aviation community is an added beneficiary of
CAN's work." Sawyer continued. "The recognition that participating
companies and their flight departments receive for this charitable
work reflects warmly on the more-than-500 companies that have
provided empty seats enabling cancer patients to receive critically
needed specialized treatment."
Peter H. Fleiss, Corporate Angel Network's Executive Director,
said "Working with Chevron Global Aviation over the years has been
a genuine pleasure. Contributions such as this are
characteristic of the broad support provided to CAN by the business
aviation industry. Chevron Global Aviation has been a strong
partner in our efforts for years and we join the many cancer
patients they've helped in expressing gratitude."
