US Senate Leader's Brother Among Them

The NBAA Monday announced the election of four new Directors.

"Over the past several months, NBAA's Board of Directors has sought candidates who are familiar with business aviation, and who bring diversity and balance to the Board through a variety of professional skills and experiences, geographical and cultural backgrounds, familiarity with the safety culture of our community and other assets," said NBAA Board Chairman Ken Emerick.

"The Nominating Committee for NBAA's Board presented several outstanding candidates who fit these criteria, and I'm pleased to announce that four of these individuals were elected as new Directors," he added.

"NBAA welcomes these new additions to the Board of Directors," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "I look forward to working with our new Board members, and the rest of the Directors on NBAA's Board, to continue strengthening our ability to provide a voice for the business aviation community's legislative agenda, its leadership on safety best practices, its work on international partnerships and its important role in economic prosperity."

The new additions to NBAA's Board of Directors are:

Dr. Thomas Frist, Jr., Chairman Emeritus of HCA. Dr. Frist served as an Air Force flight surgeon during the Vietnam War; he later earned an ATP license, and has flown 10,000 hours. He is type rated in the Citation 560 and the Sabre 65. In 1968, Frist co-founded Hospital Corporation of America in Nashville, TN. Today HCA is the largest multi-hospital company in the US Frist has served on numerous public and private boards including IBM and Third National Bank. His brother, Dr. William Frist, is majority leader of the US Senate.

Steven A. Busch, Office of the Chairman, Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. Busch is a member of the Anheuser-Busch brewing family descended from Adolphus Busch, the company's co-founder. Busch holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. He holds an ATP license with more than 7,000 hours and is type rated in the Falcon 50/900, Citation 500 series and the King Air 300. Busch travels extensively in the United States and around the world visiting company facilities and meeting with government officials. His father, August A. Busch III, was the featured speaker at the 2001 NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention in New Orleans, LA.

Patricia Andrews, Manager of Aviation Services, Exxon Mobil Corporation. Andrews' current position as the senior manager of Exxon Mobil's worldwide aviation operations caps a 20-year career in corporate flight department service. Andrews holds an ATP license with more than 6,000 flight hours and is type rated in the Gulfstream II/III/IV, Citation III/VI, Hawker HS-125 and Beechjet/MU-300. Andrews has served on NBAA's Safety Committee and has chaired Flight Safety Foundation working groups related to crew fatigue and approach and landing accident reduction (ALAR).

Bonnie C. Hathcock, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Humana Inc. Hathcock has transformed Humana's HR organization into a living laboratory for Humana's new consumer choice benefit offerings and has led human resources into a groundbreaking role in Humana's innovative business strategy. She also has extensive experience as a distinguished corporate aviation executive and is responsible for Humana's aviation group. She holds a master's in business administration and is a graduate of the Executive Human Resources Program at the Stanford University School of Business. Prior to joining Humana, Hathcock served as a senior executive with the US Airways Group. In April of 2005 Hathcock was named one of the 20 Most Powerful Women in HR by HR Executive Magazine.
