California Governor, Jerry Brown, has vetoed a bill that would have required hobby drone operators to carry liability insurance on their unmanned aircraft, and the bill also required that UAVs have a geo-fencing system installed. Governor Brown said, "This bill creates significant regulatory confusion by creating a patchwork of federal, state and local restrictions on airspace. Moreover, the Federal Aviation Administration will likely assert federal preemptions on the bills

IATA: Collaboration Needed To Stem Unruly Passenger Incidents

Nearly 11,000 Incidents Were Reported To IATA Bu Airlines Last Year

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released figures showing that reports of unruly passenger incidents onboard aircraft increased in 2015. Some 10,854 unruly passenger incidents were reported to IATA by airlines worldwide last year. This equates to one incident for every 1,205 flights, an increase from the 9,316 incidents reported in 2014 (or one incident for every 1,282 flights).
