Blue Origin has announced that its new home will be on the east coast of central Florida at Cape Canaveral. Blue Origin founder, Jeff Bezos, announced the development in a speech in Florida and on the company's blog Tuesday morning. Bezos wrote in part, "We’ll be flying our orbital launch vehicle from Florida. We are thrilled to be coming to the Sunshine State for a new era of exploration.” The launch facility will be located at Complex 36. Bezos said the site saw its last launch in 2005 and the pad has stood silent for more than 10 years. He added, “We can’t wait to fix that.” When American Airlines s

Two Hours 18 Minutes From U.K. To Italy

The AW609 TiltRotor recently set a speed record on a 1000 km (540 nautical mile) ‘point-to-point’ journey. The aircraft, with its combination of the turboprop airplane’s speed and helicopter’s take-off and landing capabilities, flew from its Yeovil facility in southwest England to its Cascina Costa facility near Milan, Italy, a distance of 627 nm, in 2 hours 18 minutes.

Firm Order Has Estimated Value Of $800 Million

Embraer has signed a firm order with SkyWest, Inc. for 18 E175 jets. The order, which will be included in Embraer’s 2015 third-quarter backlog, has an estimated value of $800 million, based on the current list price. The aircraft will be operated by SkyWest Airlines, under an amendment to an existing Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) with United Airlines.

Two airliners, a United Airlines Boeing 757 arriving from Newark, NJ and an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 pushing back from its gate collided in the area between the terminals at Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) Sunday night, resulting in damage to both airplanes. There were a combined 351 passengers on board the planes, but no injuries to passengers or crew were reported.
