U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, held the squadron's change of command ceremony at the National Naval Aviation Museum on Naval Air Station Pensacola earlier this month. Cmdr. This Flight Marks 50 Years Since Aircraft Pioneer Clay Lacy's Historic Transcontinental Speed Record In A Learjet 23 Aircraft

The high-performance Bombardier Learjet 75 aircraft has set a world speed record in its class, flying round trip between New York and Los Angeles. The flight, piloted by two members of Bombardier's flight operations demonstration team, Ed Hillis and Jeff Triphahn, was staged to mark the 50th anniversary of Clay Lacy's 1965 record-setting transcontinental round-trip flight.
