Cheaper by The Half Dozen? Aegean Airlines Buys A Further Six Airbus A320s

The fast growing Aegean Airlines has ordered six more A320s. This will eventually bring their fleet to 25 A320 Family aircraft. The first new aircraft was delivered earlier this year to the Greek airline. The airline's A320s are powered by IAE V2500 engines, and are equipped with a comfortable two-class layout.

FAA Announces 2007 Military Airport Program Selections

The FAA tells ANN that it will provide funding to four airports to help them convert from military to civilian use. The airports selected are Portsmouth International Airport, Portsmouth, NH; Sawyer International Airport, Marquette, MI; Plattsburgh International Airport, Plattsburgh, NY; and Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport, Killeen, TX.

NZ's Westpac Rescues Downed Paraglider

A Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported a patient to safety, after a paraglider crash Saturday afternoon. A 49yr old Wanganui man was injured when his paraglider crash landed on the beach at Paekakariki, north of Wellington, around 1330 local time.

Certified: Onboard Systems MD500 Hydraulic Hook

Onboard Systems has certified a new hydraulic cargo hook kit for the MD500 aircraft and will begin production shortly."The legacy hook installed on the MD500 has a history of inadvertent cargo releases, which have been traced back to improper rigging and routing of the manual release cable on this aircraft," said Jason Lemmon, General Manager of Onboard Systems.
