San Antonio Police Department Expands Fleet With New Schweizer Helos

TX Force Flies Four Model 333s

Aero-News has learned the San Antonio Police Department Helicopter Detail recently took delivery of its fourth Model 333 to expand its fleet of Schweizer Model 333 turbine helicopters for airborne law enforcement missions.

The Model 333 helicopters fly more than 2,200 hours a year in the skies over San Antonio's 1.3 million residents. The flights include patrol, search, surveillance, photo, and command and control missions, which are spread across 520 square miles.

"Even in the high and hot Texas environment, pilots and observers continue to find the 333 to be a versatile, top-performing helicopter", said San Antonio Police Department Sgt. David Torres.

Torres commended the Model 333 helicopters performance, and said Schweizer's track record of excellent product support was a key consideration in the repeat purchase. "The helicopter is a total package of value, performance and support that gives us everything we need to fulfill our patrol mission," he said.

"We know that the Model 333 is the ideal helicopter for airborne law enforcement, so it's gratifying to see the aircraft excelling with such a well respected helicopter unit," said company President Paul Schweizer. "All of us at Schweizer take pride in San Antonio's excellent reputation and success."

In addition to the Model 333, Schweizer manufactures the piston-powered Model 300C and 300CBi helicopters.
