Bell Helicopter, Engineers, Sign Three-Year Contract Deal

Three Of Four Bell Unions Now Under Contract

The Bell Production Engineering Association, which represents nearly 175 engineers at Bell Helicopter, has reached a three-year contract with the helicopter manufacturer by a three-to-one margin.

The union manages production and tooling of components at the company's manufacturing plants.

Terms of the contract include a general wage increase of 3 percent in the second and third years of the deal as well as a $3,000 per worker ratification bonus. It also includes quarterly cost of living adjustments and automatic progression increases.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Bell has now reached agreement with three of its four unions, with only the fire and security workers still without a contract. Bells manufacturing workers spent six weeks on strike against the company earlier this year, but that labor disupte was resolved in July. All of the deal have included similar health and other befits, and none includes a general pay increase in 2009.
