Word To The Wise... Check For Towbar

They don't always turn out this well... but we felt that it behooved us to mention that an all too easy mistake to make (leaving the towbar attached to your aircraft), still continues to be made with great regularity. We don't wish to embarrass anyone with this note (and in fact, I regret to say that I started taxiing once several years ago, with a towbar still attached to the front of a Cessna... whereupon, the scraping noise gave it away, thank God. BUT, when this happens, it means one simple thing, that your pre-flight wasn't good enough. Let's ALL be doubly vigilant against this sort of memory and judgement lapse... --Jim Campbell, ANN E-I-C)
