AeroMetric Adds Navajo Chieftain To Fleet

Ninth Fixed-Wing Aircraft To Be Utilized By The Company

Geospatial solution firm AeroMetric has taken delivery of a Piper Navajo Chieftain as part of its continued technology renewal and expansion strategy to support projects nationwide. This airplane joins AeroMetric’s existing fleet of eight fixed-wing aircraft that can be fitted with any of their three digital mapping cameras, two airborne LiDAR sensors and six film cameras.

This Chieftain has twin 350 horsepower engines, giving it the capability of flying up to 26,000 feet, cruising at over 200 knots, and a range of over 1,000 miles. This adaptable aircraft will be able to deploy any of AeroMetric’s wide array of sensors, while its extended fuel storage capacity will provide increased range and versatility.

“We are very excited with the new addition to our fleet. Having this aircraft on-line for the busy fall flying season gives AeroMetric additional capacity to provide clients with rapid mobilization and data acquisition,” said Bob Richards, AeroMetric’s senior vice president and chief of program management.

Supplementing the AeroMetric fleet are three turbine helicopters equipped with state-of-the-art eagleeye corridor Mapping Systems. These are operated by Tuck Mapping, in association with AeroMetric.
