LSAs To Be On Display At Midwest Show

Plans Are Shaping Up For September Event In Illinois

The Second Annual Midwest LSA Expo is shaping up to be much bigger and better than the successful inaugural event held last fall, event organizers say. Nearly 40 aircraft exhibitor spaces have already been reserved on the flightline with many of the remaining slots being eyed by aircraft exhibitors expressing strong interest.

"All of the major flying Light Sport Aircraft will be here, many showing a multiple-space, corporate style presence," said Chris Collins, Midwest LSA Expo organizer.

Spaces inside the Aviator's Hotline Exhibitor Hall are being reserved by exhibitors offering the latest in avionics, GPS, headsets, pilot supplies, insurance, and real estate.

Along with exhibitors showing aircraft, avionics, and more, a slate of forums/seminars are being organized and scheduled by the Illinois Department of Transportation-Division of Aeronautics Bureau of Aviation Education and Safety, the Illinois Ultralight Advisory Council, Ultraflight Radio, and SweeneyCorp.

The Midwest LSA Expo is planned for Thursday, September 23 through Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Mt. Vernon Outland Airport (KMVN) in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Organizers say the event is the most affordable and convenient aviation event of its kind. The airport is located near the intersection of two interstate highways, and there are many nearby hotels, restaurants, and other amenities. Collins said arrangements are being made for hourly shuttle bus service between the major hotel area and the airport.

"There will be something for everyone at the Midwest LSA Expo," said event organizer Collins.  "Demo your favorite LSA's, attend a forum/seminar provided by the best in the business, and shop for that new aviation goodie you have been wanting to buy - all the while being taken care of by many people that are glad to see you."
