Airlines Are Energizing The Pilot Recruitment Process
ExpressJet Airlines has formed an
alliance with the FlightSafety Academy in Vero Beach, Florida. An
agreement has been signed by the Vice President of Operations for
ExpressJet that clearly defines the qualifications expected of its
successful pilot applicants. The document endorsed by both parties
indicates the confidence of ExpressJet in the quality of the
Academy’s training procedures.
The alliance creates a well-defined preparation path through the
FlightSafety Academy, for the professional-to-be, with respect to
the logbook time, and academic, simulator and in-flight training.
The training steps necessary to be competitive towards an offer of
employment from ExpressJet is called the Direct Track Program.
The Academy’s advanced full flight simulators are an
important part of the ExpressJet Direct Track program. The ERJ-145
FAA Level “D” simulator on the campus provides an
opportunity for the trainee to prepare for a first officer position
on the exact duplicate of the airline’s aircraft.
The FlightSafety Academy’s Direct Track Program for
ExpressJet anticipates a consistent need on the part of the airline
for well prepared pilot candidates. The agreement with the airline
recognizes the quality of the Academy’s training programs. It
validates the training program as providing a suitable preparation
for pilot recruitment. With the clarity of the program’s
training phases at the Academy, and its step-by-step goals, the
qualified applicant can work with confidence to successfully
complete the Direct Track program.
The FlightSafety Academy has been preparing pilots for
professional flying careers for nearly 40 years. The
Academy’s campus at Vero Beach Airport encompasses student
and academic facilities and includes one of the largest fleet of
training aircraft in the United States. The Academy is the only
initial training establishment to include FAA- close approved Level
“D” full flight simulators in its facilities, along
with a wide range of advanced training devices. The Academy’s
fleet includes two aerobatic trainers for upset and disorientation
training.
