ANN Selected As Official News Service Of The 2006 NW EAA Fly-In

Come Join ANN For The 2006 NW EAA Fly-In!

The Aero-News Network (ANN), the Aviation World’s DAILY News Service (http://www.aero-news.net), has been selected by the 2006 NW EAA Fly-In in Arlington, Washington, as their official news service for the world-renowned five day event.

Since the early 1970’s the annual gathering of Northwest aviation enthusiasts has been drawing a cheerful and friendly crowd to the Arlington Municipal Airport. With volunteer spirit and a love of aviation, these enthusiasts built a tradition that is known, world-wide, as the Arlington Fly-In. Every July, a dedicated group of volunteers create a small city at the Arlington Airport that hosts over 50,000 guests.

ANN Publisher, Jim Campbell said that, "I couldn't be more pleased to be partnering with the folks at Arlington... their staff espouses one of the most outstanding work ethics in the business, and a true dedication to the best interests of aviation. With our own 'Aero-Fest' program now under development, it is a pleasure to not only attend this event but to absorb a serious education in how to run a fly-in the 'Wright' way. I'm going to have a full note-pad by the time this event is done. It's always been one of my favorite events and this year looks to be a very exciting one for us to cover."

ANN will be reporting live from the grounds of the 2006 Fly-In and will be posting numerous stories, pictures and ANN's high-quality Aero-Cast audio-programming each day of the fly-in. ANN's Special Event coverage has been a distinguishing feature of our organization since DAY ONE. It's a tough, exhausting, brutally intensive process (but, yeah, we have a lot of fun doing it -- don't tell anyone...) -- and read by hundreds of thousands of aero-news readers all over the world.

Fly-In Director Barbara Tolbert noted that, "We are pleased to welcome back Aero-News as the official news source for the Arlington EAA Fly-In July 5-9. The professionals at Aero News are not only nice folks, they also know how to get the news out. This year we welcome even more staff from Aero-News, who will be located in their own office in the HQ area of the Fly-In. We look forward to reading all the news Jim and his crew bring to their readers from this event."

Scheduled for July 5th through the 9th, this year's NW EAA Fly-In promises to be a cut above the already lofty standard set by previous fly-ins. Among the special events that will be part of this year's fly-in, one can look forward to the Washington Sea Plane Pilots' plan for a 'Splash-In' at Lake Goodwin Resort July 7-9, 2006. Lake Goodwin Resort has Dock space for loading and unloading, anchored buoys for tie down will be provided and transportation to the Arlington Fly-In will be provided.

In addition, the Arlington Fly-In is taking an aggressive step into the future. In partnership with the Arlington Sport Aviation Park, they are building a facility that will support and expand their mission by bringing the world of aviation to children, families and the thousands of people sharing the dream of flight. The new Education-Exhibit Center will feature 25,000 square feet of floor space, 5 climate-controlled classrooms, and 100 additional indoor exhibit spaces.

Got The Hots For An 'LSA?'

After its successful introduction at last year's AirVenture in Oshkosh -- and a somewhat-conspicuous absence at the recent Lakeland Fly-In -- EAA is bringing its Light Sport Aircraft Mall to the upcoming Northwest EAA Fly-In in Arlington, WA.

The Light-Sport Aircraft Mall offers the opportunity to view a variety of new recreational and light-sport aircraft -- all in ready-to-fly-condition -- in one place. All aviation enthusiasts are welcome, ranging from experienced pilots to those just discovering the possibilities of flight, and can have their questions answered by an EAA sport pilot expert.

Silver State Helicopters, a local flight academy will be providing aerial tours during the Fly-In. Those who sign up early can receive a 25% discount on the flight ($30 per person for advance reservations), and priority handling -- which means that all guests with a pre-reservation will go directly to the express line when they are ready to take their flight. Each flight will be able to accommodate two or three passengers and will offer a bird's eye-view of the beautiful scenery of North Snohomish County, as well as a 'spectacular vista of Cascade Mountains and Valleys.'

In addition to all this, there are amazing opportunities to see the latest in Warbirds, Classics, Homebuilts, Antiques, Ultralights, Balloons, Aerobatics (including a daily air show), Forums, Workshops and MUCH more.

This nod from one of the nation's largest fly-ins is but one in an extensive series of honors for the Aero-News Network. In 2004, ANN was designated by the Ansari X Prize and X Prize Foundation to provide specialized news and news pool services for the launches of SpaceShipOne and also served similar duties for the 2005 inaugural X Prize Cup.

ANN Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, is hinting at other exciting announcements for ANN readers and listeners. "We're in the process of finalizing no less than a dozen agreements for special event and specialized news and feature programming projects. 2006 is going to be a banner year for ANN and the hardest working staff in in aviation journalism. We can't wait to get started on it all."

Persons and companies with potential news and press releases for the 2006 NW EAA Fly-In are urged to submit them via E-Mail to 2006 NW EAA Fly-In Aero-News Submissions, ASAP. ANN invites you to submit your press materials and PR packages to us prior to the Fly-In, in order to allow our team to do as much advance preparation as possible and to get a feel for the stories that will be prominent this next year. The sooner we get such data, the more we can do with it, and the more likely it is that you'll find yourself featured in a future ANN online news feed or Aero-Cast. Submissions are strongly encouraged by E-mail though postal "snail mail" is acceptable so long as it is received in our office no later than July 1st, 2006. No aviation entity currently gets to as many people, every day, as ANN is doing now, so we encourage you to get in contact with us if you think you might have a story idea or a subject worth covering.
