EVA Orders Boeing 777s Powered By GE90-115B Engines

The Five 777 Freighter Aircraft Will Come With GE’s OnPoint Agreement

EVA Airways has confirmed an order for five GE90-115B-powered Boeing 777 Freighter and signed a 12-year OnPoint solution agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul that covers these GE90 engines. The engine order and OnPoint solution agreement are valued at more than $750 million list price over the life of the agreement. Aircraft delivery will begin in 2017.

“We are so pleased to see EVA expand its fleet with GE90-115B-powered-B777 freighters,” said Chaker Chahrour, vice president & general manager of Global Sales & Marketing at GE Aviation. “We have delivered more than 2,000 GE90 engines to 70 operators around the world. This engine/aircraft combination has proved its performance and reliability as the most successful long-range widebody in service today.”

OnPoint solutions are customized service agreements tailored to the operational and financial needs of each customer for any size fleet. Backed by GE's global support network, OnPoint services may include overhaul, on wing support, new and used-serviceable parts, component repair, technology upgrades, engine leasing, integrated systems support and diagnostics and integrated systems.

EVA Airways began operation in 1991 and has become one of the fastest growing airlines in Asia. With an extensive fleet of 71 aircraft, EVA operates passenger and cargo routes to over 60 cities around the world.

The GE90 engine family powers all Boeing 777 models and is the exclusive powerplant on the 777-300ER, -200LR, and Freighter. The family has accumulated more than 50 million flight hours and 7 million cycles since entering service in 1995.
