Two Lost In Montana C550 Accident

Snow, Fog Reported In Area

Investigators with the NTSB and FAA are at the scene of Thursday morning's fatal downing of a Cessna Citation 550 bizjet near Dillon, MT.

Sheriff Jay Hansen told Moline, IL television station WQAD-8 Allan Hamilton was at the controls of his private plane (type shown above), when it impacted a field east of Dillon Airport (KDLN). The aircraft exploded on impact, Hansen said, killing Hamilton and passenger John Wauterlek.

Both men worked at the Chicago-area real estate firm that Hamilton founded. The aircraft was inbound to Dillon from Rockford, IL.

According to the FAA's Preliminary Report, shown below, conditions at DLN at the time of the accident indicate light wind out of the southwest at 8 knots, with light snow and fog reducing visibility to one mile.
