Partners: American Utilicraft & Metalcraft Technologies

MTI To Build Fuselage, Empennage

Metalcraft Technologies and American Utilicraft have joined up in an agreement where Metalcraft will manufacture the fuselage and empennage sub-assemblies for the Prototype, First Article and the first 528 Production FF-1080 aircraft.

With that deal done, American Utilicraft says construction of the center fuselage section for the Prototype FF-1080 aircraft is expected to begin by mid November of this year.

Both companies are finalizing construction and production details for the Prototype aircraft assemblies.

Under the agreement, MTI will provide the following for the initial FF-1080 developmental prototype and first article test aircraft, and 528 production FF-1080 aircraft:

  • Manufacture of all of the details for the forward, center, and aft fuselage and empennage assemblies.
  • Design and manufacture of all required assembly jigs and fixtures.
  • Assembly of the forward and aft sections of the fuselage (including horizontal and vertical stabilizers) at their facility in Cedar City, Utah.
  • Technical assistance and supervision for the assembly of the center fuselage at the American Utilicraft facility.
