A Word About "Pre-Designated Emergency Landing Areas" In January of 2023 the Federal Aviation Administration published their latest revision to their Heliport Design Advisory Circular, AC 150/5390-2D. First introduced in 1959, this standard is the only recognized guidance document for heliport design in the United States.
