The Reno Air Racing Association has announced the cancellation of the 2020 STIHL National Championship Air Races originally scheduled for Sept. 16–20. The Reno Air Racing Association Board of Directors reiterated their principal concern for the safety and health of all involved and in light of continuing uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus and government-imposed restrictions for large scale events has decided to turn all efforts to 2021. B737 MAX Certification Flights Could Start Today

Multiple Media Reports Suggest That The FAA Will Be Flying the 737 MAX Throughout The Week

News/Analysis by Jim Campbell, ANN CEO/Editor-In-Chief After well over a year of controversy over the once-certified Boeing 737 MAX, the recertification effort may finally be heading to a conclusion that could get the current airplanes and hundreds more in the pipeline into the air. It's been a convoluted, political process that has often had less to do with aerodynamics than the glaring headlines that turned the issue into one of the most costly in aviation history. To many pilots from the US with experience in the airplane, the issue was more about inadequate foreign crew training and documentation than actual problems with the air

COVID-19 Causes Miramar Airshow Cancellation

Air Show Had Originally Been Scheduled For Sept. 25-27

It has become a viciously repetitive story... as one airshow after another falls prey to the COVID-19 Pandemic... and at a time when we all hoped that we'd be past all this by now. One of the latest victims is what has been called the single largest military airshow in the business... the Miramar Air Show. This year's 2020 Miramar Air Show had originally been scheduled for this Sept. 25-27, but was cancelled after Col. Charles B. Dockery, the commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, decided that the health risks were simply too great.

NTSB Factual Report: Beech 36

Pilot Realized That He Was Interrupted During His Starting Checklist And Concluded That He Did Not Turn On The Alternators

According to the pilot, after a normal start and runup, he departed the airport and climbed to the cruise altitude. After reaching that altitude, he noted a flashing message indicator on the GPS that stated there was an electrical system issue. The pilot informed air traffic control that he would return to the departure airport to repair the issue, and about 7 miles from the airport, the GPS and primary flight display began to flash.
