Airborne-Unmanned 12.24.19: Skyryse Flight Stack, AFRL LEAP, New FAA MOUs

Skyryse has unveiled the Skyryse Flight Stack, a suite of automation technologies that will help the company make safe urban flight mainstream. The Skyryse Flight Stack comprises technology that automates flight in FAA-approved helicopters, safety and communication systems, and a network of smart helipads to ultimately create a new transportation system in the sky. The company also demonstrated the Flight Stack in action, completing a fully autonomous flight – without a pilot's hands on the controls or remote operator – in a modified FAA-approved commercial helicopter. NASA has developed a flexible way to test new designs for aircraft that use multiple rotors to fly. The Multirotor Test Bed, or MTB, will let researchers study a wide variety of rotor configurations for different vehicles, including tiltrotor aircraft, mid-sized drones and those future air taxis. Bristell Unveils New High-Wing Design

Expects To First Show The Airplane To The Public At Aero Friedrichshafen 2020

Bristell has a new model that it plans to show to the public for the first time at Aero Friedrichshafen 2020. The B8 is a high-wing, all-metal aircraft, and the order book is open. According to the company, the B8 is a strutless high-wing airplane with a steerable nose wheel and control yokes in the cockpit. The basic model will be powered by a 100 hp Rotax 912ULS, with planned options for Rotas IS, 914 and 915iS engines. The 49-inch-wide cockpit will have composite doors, and a separate door for the luggage compartment. Bristell plans a first public showing of the B8 at Aero Friedrichshafen 2020, and says it will be available for test and demonstration flights shortly after that show.
