Announcement of 'Air Traffic Control Reform Initiative' Scheduled For 1130 ET

Well... we had a feeling that it was coming sooner or later, but it now appears that 'sooner' is what we can now expect. President Trump, ignoring the advice of much of the aviation industry (except for the airlines interested in undertaking a power grab), has scheduled a Monday morning announcement in the East Room of the White House in order to publicize the 'Air Traffic Control Reform Initiative' that he plans to send to Congress. Training Qualified Austrian Pilots In Air-To-Air Weapons And Tactics

Discovery Air Defense Services has successfully completed its first-ever training with the Austrian Air Force over Wittmund, Germany. Seven Eurofighters from Austria's 1st Squadron "Überwachungsgeschwader" (Surveillance Wing) in Zeltweg trained against two DA Defense A-4N Skyhawks in air-to-air gunnery, and Eurofighters from the German Luftwaffe's Tactical Air Force Wing 71 "Richthofen" in supersonic intercepts. DA Defense's training qualified the Austrian pilots in air-to-air weapons and tactics.

ANN's Daily Aero-Term (06.04.17): Cruise

Cruise Used in an ATC clearance to authorize a pilot to conduct flight at any altitude from the minimum IFR altitude up to and including the altitude specified in the clearance. The pilot may level off at any intermediate altitude within this block of airspace. Climb/descent within the block is to be made at the discretion of the pilot. However, once the pilot starts descent and verbally reports leaving an altitude in the block, he/she may not return to that altitude without additional ATC clearance.
