The first international student aviator at the 33rd Fighter Wing, training to be an F-35B Lightning II instructor pilot, completed his first sortie in the joint strike fighter at Eglin AFB in Florida March 19. United Kingdom Royal Air Force Squadron Leader Frankie Buchler flew with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron-501.

New AW139 Simulator Obtains ENAC Certification To Level D

Second Sim Located At AW Training Facility In Italy

The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) has certified a CAE 3000 Series AW139 full-flight simulator (FFS), jointly developed by AgustaWestland and CAE, to Level D, the highest qualification for flight simulators. The new AW139 FFS, the third for Rotorsim, the joint venture owned equally by CAE and AgustaWestland, is the second located at the AgustaWestland Training Academy in Sesto Calende, Italy.
