Aviation author, Richard Bach, remains in serious but improving condition following his approach to landing accident on Saturday while flying an Amateur Built-Experimental SeaRey Amphib he purchased earlier this year. The Hoppers Jet Team has lost the newest member of the team after the crash of a L39 Albatross jet aircraft Saturday at the 2012 Quad City Airshow in Iowa. The accident occurred at approximately 1325 local time. The pilot has been identified as Glen A. Smith, 58, of Frisco, Texas. A group of students at a university in Maryland are a little closer to claiming the two-hundred-and-fifty-thousand-dollar ‘Sikorsky

Surveillance aircraft based at RAF Waddington have notched up a collective total of 20,000 flying hours protecting British and other ISAF forces in Afghanistan. The high-tech, state-of-the-art Sentinel R1 aircraft of No 5 (Army Cooperation) Squadron and Shadow R1 aircraft of 14 Squadron have each clocked up 10,000 hours on Operation HERRICK.

First Time Planets 'Seen' Orbiting Two Suns

NASA's Kepler mission has discovered multiple transiting planets orbiting two suns for the first time. The system, known as a circumbinary planetary system, is 4,900 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cygnus.

This agreement allows American to place its code on flights marketed by Iberia, and operated by Iberia Express, between its Madrid hub and 14 destinations throughout Europe. Flights are available for sale September 4 for travel beginning September 10.

USAF Hopes To Fly The Aircraft Until At Least 2050

A five-year testing program is underway on the wing of a U.S. Air Force B-1 bomber to validate the predicted life of the bomber fleet, currently expected to be 2050. The testing is being carried out by Boeing. The test also will reveal potential areas of concern for which Boeing and the Air Force can develop maintenance and repair plans.

Helicopter Fuel-Savings Program Expands To Europe

New Hampshire Company Granted EASA STC For Auto Gas In Robinson Model R44

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has granted an STC to New Hampshire-based JTI Air Holdings allowing the operation of Robinson Model R44 helicopters using automotive gasoline for fuel. The company sells certificates that allow pilots in the United States and other countries to fly helicopters using cost-saving automotive gas.

The 'Friends of Leiston Airfield' was formed in the summer of 1995 by Peter Saunders, Chris Betson and the late Peter Barker, after a group of people with holiday caravans on the 'Cakes & Ale Park', had become concerned that a small memorial erected on a hardstand in an area hidden from view from the general public, had become neglected and rubbish strewn.
